Ever wonder what your Freelancer would do if they were able to fight in the war, or how the Spartans would behave if they were recruited as Freelancers? Here's your chance to find out!

How to play:

• Post a top-level with your RvB or Halo character


• List preferences and ideas, or write a starter


• Tag around! It doesn't have to be strictly characters from the other setting, either. Put two Freelancers in the ODST, or put Master Chief and Cortana in Project Freelancer. Let your imagination be your guide!

She'd made herself familiar with their dossiers; this guy was a sniper, and she's hoping long distance judging by the bright colors of his armor.]

The Arbiter

The Arbiter was a Sangheili zealot who rose to the rank of Supreme Commander of the Covenant's Fleet of Particular Justice, the one responsible for glassing the planet Reach. ...Then he failed to stop the Master Chief from blowing up a holy space artifact, was branded with the mark of shame, got sent on a suicide mission by the Prophets, found out the Prophets were going to get everyone in the galaxy killed, and forged a very shaky alliance with humanity instead.

After the war, he ended up the head of the Sangheili government. He has been trying to unify the planet and make diplomatic efforts to maybe not end up in another war with humans.

It's... probably easiest to find an excuse to be around the dude if it's after the shaky alliance started, but hey. ))

((Aliens? Really? Carolina never had a chance to fight against the Sangheili in the war, not even before Freelancer. Technically, she's not supposed to be fighting them now. She's here as a representative from the UNSC. Somebody has to run damage control after Lavernius Tucker's time here.

Which, apparently, includes proving to the Elites that humans can actually fight. It technically goes against the "no fighting" part of her orders, but Carolina won't question that. Orders are orders. Besides, it'll be fun, testing herself against an entirely new enemy.))

((Supergenius ice queen polymath and architect of both the Spartan program and all modern smart AI. Falls from grace after the war ends and the Office of Naval Intelligence wants to start covering up how unethical it all was, but until then can get more or less anything she wants with no questions asked. Only loves Spartan-IIs, a dead UNSC captain and their dead daughter, and AIs. Who the Director was modeled on, basically, except none of her projects fell apart.

She could be brought in to do a review or post-mortem on Freelancer, or somehow ended up with the Reds and Blues because of a navigational error, god help them all.))

When he had first been told about the replacement for Janelle-033 after she... 'went MIA', Matt-020 hadn't known what to do with himself. They had been an effective team, if a smaller one than normally recommended. A team was larger, but Matt had never cared much, Janelle got him in, Matt moved what needed moving or broke what needed breaking, and together they did things other soldiers couldn't do. Finding a new one of his brothers, of his sisters, to fit the role Janelle had filled in his life seemed impossible.

Being told it was someone, something entirely different, was hard to process. That there was another group that had their title, that... Matt didn't know how he was supposed to deal with the person who was supposed to be rendezvousing with Matt's shuttle shortly with their latest UNSC mission brief. The one that was going to have the man in a role that Janelle had molded herself into with him over the years. Something about tech retrieval, the main sort of job a SPARTAN of Matt's size was meant for.

Matt grumbled to himself as he paced back and forth, waiting.

North Dakota

[I headcanon he's an ex UNSC Marine from the Outer Colony of Sansar. He and his twin sister joined the UNSC because of the war and their home planet was glassed while they were away in basic training. North served in multiple campaigns over the course of the war but most of his unit was wiped out in the New Jerusalem campaign. He was recovering from wounds sustained during the battle when he got tapped by Project Freelancer and joined up with them with the promise of ending the war sooner and with the added bonus of being allowed to serve with his sister, something normal regulations did not allow.

I'd love for him to come across a real-live Spartan either during the course of his career pre-PFL or even during the Project so we can have 'wtf why are you wearing knock-off MJOLNIR armor' maybe AU stuff up. Maybe instead of getting tapped for PFL he gets tapped for the Spartan-IV program instead. Gimme all your Halo and RvB stuff. /greedy hands]

[Kurt is a Spartan-II who has the illustrious distinction of being kidnapped twice and being shanghaied into yet another government blackops assignment against his will. Which is to say he spent twenty years after his death was faked training all three classes of Spartan-III's on the remote planet of Onyx. Compared to his fellow II's he actually has some people skills and is downright personable.

Gimme all your Spartan-III's for pseudo bonding times or any crazy Freelancers you'd like to AU into Spartans. Also, my kingdom for any II's he meets up with at the end of Ghosts of Onyx. We didn't get nearly enough 'family reunion' feels or any other crazy AU ideas you want to pitch. I'm down for anything!]
