[meme] RvB & Halo AU Meme

Ever wonder what your Freelancer would do if they were able to fight in the war, or how the Spartans would behave if they were recruited as Freelancers? Here's your chance to find out!

How to play:
  • Post a top-level with your RvB or Halo character

  • List preferences and ideas, or write a starter

  • Tag around! It doesn't have to be strictly characters from the other setting, either. Put two Freelancers in the ODST, or put Master Chief and Cortana in Project Freelancer. Let your imagination be your guide!

  • Have fun!

Inclined. Maine can be Inclined.

Another planet, another job, another task that he was more than game for. Of course there was little that Matt-020 could not handle, and this was one of those things he could handle. Which shouldn't be a surprise, should it? He was trained to do the impossible, go places where others wouldn't be able to make the grade, and pass with flying colors. This time was no different for Matt, and he didn't seem phased by the arrival of marines.

The white, Kelly had once observed in passing, was just begging for a Covenant soldier to start a mess with him. Matt had not denied it, or bothered to point out that the white had drawn attention away from his then common combat partner who was a sniper. The best sniper. But that had been a while ago, before Linda had gone Blue team, leaving him the last member of Green and he had been left relatively alone for missions like this. Where his durability, even for a Spartan, was needed.

He listened silently to his briefing from the LT before him and nodded to acknowledge that everything was heard and understood. Then he saluted briskly and moved toward the marines approaching. Not because he needed to be near them, but because they were between him and the building set up as their temporary barracks. His mission would involve a lot of hard work and he needed to rest first. Which meant moving through the marines, and they parted like a sea before him, just like they always did.

[ York doesn't split.

York, instead, watches to see what direction the Spartan is walking in, gestures at a couple of his pals that he'll catch up, and steps to fall into line beside the tall man, despite the fact that the rest of his unit is moving in the opposite direction. ]

This is something else. You're a Spartan, right? Everyone in my unit thinks you all are just a legend. Some kind of myth.

[ Keeping up is quite a job. York grins, though. This is awesome. ]

So what's over here? Is there a job you've been ordered to handle in this direction?

[Really? Why does this happen? Not even the first time. Matt-020 lengthened his stride a bit, knowing a marine probably wouldn't be able to keep pace. Hopefully this one won't be persistent. Except he doesn't seem to be dissuaded by it. Because the man is chattering. Fine. Want to know where he's going? The man will tell you.]

Barracks.

[What else would be over there at the barracks? Come on, marine, keep your eyes open. Look around.]
